Dear Mrs. Klebnikov,
I am shocked by the death of your husband. It is all too clear that he was in the way of some people, people that grew to hate him. He gave his life for the Truth — and for Russia, which he earnestly loved. I retain the brightest memory of him, from my interview with him and from our meeting on native land.
